Overview
We are seeking at least two skilled and dedicated Commercial Gas Engineers to join our team.
One candidate working exclusively in North Wales and one candidate working in South Wales; the ability to speak Welsh would be an advantage to both.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas/oil/renewable systems across various settings, ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and practical skills in plumbing, welding, and tool utilisation to develop their career within a reputable organisation. Applicants must be committed to safety, quality workmanship, and efficient service delivery.
Duties
- Install, inspect, and repair gas appliances and systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on gas equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
- Perform permitted lifting of equipment or materials safely as required.
- Troubleshoot and fix mechanical issues related to systems using technical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and report any safety concerns or faults promptly.
- Assist with the assembly of new gas-related installations or components as needed.
- Drive company vehicles for site visits where necessary, adhering to all commercial driving regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in gas engineering or related mechanical fields.
- Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to perform permitted lifting safely and efficiently.
- Clean driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties.
- DBS screened is advantagious
- Experience with installation work is desirable.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to gas systems is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or flexibly as part of a team in diverse environments. This role requires a proactive individual who is committed to delivering high standards of service while prioritising safety at all times. Candidates with a versatile skill set encompassing welding, plumbing, building, and mechanical expertise will find this position both challenging and rewarding as they contribute to the maintenance of vital commercial infrastructure across multiple sectors.
